Kratom Elixir is similar to a tincture, but serves a very different purpose.
An elixir is not as concentrated as a tincture or a liquid extract, and is often
mixed with several other plants as well, with, in the case of Kratom, other
plants that will synergize with the main ingredient. For example, the
Kratom Elixir that is available on a few sites websites, including
IAmShaman Shop, is a mixture of a full
spectrum extract of Kratom, with Blue Lily and Kava Kava extracts added to give
it a different character. One website called
Herb Spirits seems to
be the company that manufactuers most of the elixirs and tinctures that are
commercially available through enthegoen and ethnobotanical dealers.
Often, elixirs are used for a different experience; elixirs provide a
synergistic effect, rather than an experience that is the result of just one
plant. Blue Lily mixed with Kratom, we have found, imparts a much
different flavor on the liquid, making it much more pleasant and palatable to
work with. It also provides, in our opinion, a much more "heady" response
to the Kratom Elixir, making it much more of a thought provoking experience,
quite conducive to meditation, with the Kava adding just a touch of energy that
helps one to relax into the experience.
Don't expect to be knocked over with the potency of elixirs; this is not their
purpose, and is what liquid extracts exist for. Elixirs are far more
subtle of an experience, inviting one to sit quietly, contemplating their mental
state and experience, letting the Kratom Elixir work gently on ones body and
mind.
For us, to feel effects that one would want to "write home" about, it would take
an entire bottle of elixir, but they are very typically priced accordingly.
As a note: We would never condone such an activity, we are simply
including that point for reference and nothing more.
